"The Border Between a Lie and a Truth" by De Garassie the 4th 出涸し文四郎
Introduction
Somewhere between truth and lie, I quietly existed.
This poem is about that silent place.
真実と嘘のあいだに、私は静かに生きていました。この詩は、その静かな場所についての記憶です。
The Border Between a Lie and a Truth
by De Garassie the 4th
The border between a lie and a truth
I used to live there, quietly
Not sure if I was hiding
Or just waiting to be seen
I told myself
“It didn’t mean a thing”
But the tears that came
Said otherwise
The border between a lie and a truth
Lived in the kitchen light
In half-heard voices over dinner
And the way the door stayed half-closed at night
We smiled because we had to
Laughed, because it filled the air
But silence lingered like perfume
And no one asked what wasn’t there
The border between a lie and a truth
Was in the things he never said
My father stared out the window
While I filled the silence in my head
And the last word from the girl I once loved
Fell too soft for me to hold
I called it fake, I called it weak
But now it echoes deep and bold
It wasn’t a lie
I just couldn’t see
That truth sometimes comes
More like a whisper than a plea
It was the border…
And now I know—
I live there too
The border between a lie and a truth
It isn’t a line
It isn’t a lie
It isn’t fine
It isn’t mine
It shifts with time
It bends with fear
It hides with dime
It finds affront — in words we hear
END
【Closing|後書き】
This poem is not a confession.
It’s a quiet witness to where truth lives — not in certainty, but in memory.
If you’ve ever stood at that border, then maybe this song is yours too.
この詩は懺悔ではありません。
それは、真実が生きている場所——確信ではなく、記憶の中——への静かな証言です。
もしあなたも、あの境界に立ったことがあるなら、この歌は、きっとあなたの心にも届くでしょう。
